Loki: Marker Step-By-Step

I decided to take a break from my Tom Hiddleston page...

...By drawing more Tom. Yeah, that makes perfect sense.

But since I wanted to do another Loki with markers, I decided to snap work in progress shots as I went along. I might as well give you a look at how I do these things. I used Prismacolor markers in Cool Grey 10% through 90% & Black. (I kept the pics in black & white because the colors were getting messed up in the photos.)

I always, always go from lightest (10%) to darkest 90%) That way if I feel there needs more color in a place when I start a new section, I can always go back and add more. Also- remember that the marker color will look slightly different (lighter in most cases) when it's dry. Keep an eye on that.
And if you noticed in the pics, I color by sections so there won't be any color lines ruining the drawing. This really helps for those who have this problem.

This particular drawing wasn't really done slowly, as I should have, which is why he looks a little weird. I honestly wanted to get done with it after a while- it started to become a pain.

Took all of about 9 hours and is around 18 inches in width.

Great drawing! I really underestimated markers and didn't thought that something like this is possible with them. Your gallery really inspired me to buy some markers (and other media) and try out something new! Thank you very much! ;)
And it's fun to draw with markers, but I think that colour pencils are still my favorite tools! :) By the way: I'm drawing to much Loki at the moment, too...
